Excellence, Service & Partnerships
Every day we strive to improve each detail of how we conduct ourselves as both individuals and corporately, from our bedside interactions with patients, to our relationships with the hospital staff and administrative team, to our provision of support services to our physicians and mid-level providers. Every decision we make is measured against our three core values:
- Excellence in our provision of care and performance as a business
- Service to the communities in which we live and facilities in which we work
- Partnership through establishing dedicated, long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our client hospitals and care providers.
Every physician, physician's assistant, and nurse practitioner has a story about their "best case ever". But the "best case ever" probably isn't what makes any provider excellent. We define excellence as doing the routine, correctly, every time. And we try to achieve excellence at every level of our business. To the providers, it means giving aspirin to every chest pain patient and sometimes a blanket. To the facility medical directors, it means becoming imbedded into the hospital culture. Let’s face it. Many people don't use the adjective "exciting" when describing hospital committee meetings. Our medical directors recognize that the committee meetings are a place to impact care, build relationships, and indentify opportunities for improvement. To the support staff, it means accounting for every patient record, wherever it is in the process, making sure that a provider credential never expires, and addressing any post visit concern that a patient might have.
Here is the reality of the situation. Everyone has a choice. A board-certified, residency-trained physician can have a job in almost any city in any state in twenty-four hours (it takes a little longer to get a state license, but the premise is accurate). Every hospital administration knows that within one week of making a couple of phone calls, a minimum of three provider groups will be ready to give a presentation in the boardroom. And the vast majority of our patients really do choose the emergency department they wish to entrust with the care of themselves or their loved one. We believe that true partnership is the result of fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our client hospitals, care providers and support staff, built upon mutual trust and professional integrity.
