Frequently Asked Questions

This collection of frequently asked questions (FAQ) provides brief answers to many common questions patients have concerning thier ER visit.

Question:Why did I receive two bills for my emergency room visit?
Answer:The hospital where you were treated will issue a bill covering everything that is neccesary to support the care provided by the physician.  This would encompass your use of the hospital room, equipment and supplies used during your visit.  It will also cover the cost of nurses and technicians employed by the hospital.

You will also receive a bill from the provider who evaluated and treated you.  This service is distinct from those provided by the hospital.  Your insurance company will recognize and process these services as distinct.

Question:Why is my provider bill from an address in Pennsylvania?
Answer:Our providers focus on providing great care.  In order to best service our patients after they leave the emergency department, our providers engage Reimbursement Technologies in Conshohoken, Pennsylvania to assist with our billing.

Question:Why is there a doctor's name on my bill when I saw physician assistant(PA) or nurse practioner(NP)?
Answer:Our mid-level providers practice along side our physicians.  The physician named on your bill has provided input to, and is ultimately responsible for the care you received.
